Tanya (2023) - Theo Jessel - short documentary film

In 2022 Joanna co-produced Tanya alongside director Theo Jessel. The film was an NFTS graduation documentary and showcased at the BFI in February 2023.

After fleeing war-torn Ukraine to join a travelling circus in England, a young dancer is under intense pressure to adapt to circus life, while facing her trauma, guilt and shame for leaving her country to provide for her family.
